Clean Art?

For the last couple of semesters I've been taking art classes at school, surprise surprise, but the last one I took was focusing on idea building and working quickly.
Now, I've always been fascinated by the comic book style art, clean crisp lines and no sketchyness. So I've always worked very hard on getting my lines clean and nice, uh oh, my teacher kept getting me to loosen up, draw with my left hand, get more sketchy when I was doing my pencil drawing.

So what are your preferences in art (in general) Loose and sketchy? or clean and crisp?
